American Bureau of Shipping and its affiliates (“ABS”) collects the information above to verify your identity and your employer, to screen you and your company against U.S. and international sanctions and restricted party lists as required by applicable law, and to establish your ABS PLATO beta account. To facilitate this screening, ABS may disclose this information to its US headquarters office, and local affiliates (as appropriate), as well as to its third-party screening provider, OpenSanctions API (located in the EU). Your nationality and company, and your date of birth (if provided), are retained indefinitely, solely for the purpose of sanctions screening and related recordkeeping. Additionally, ABS retains your full name and email address on an ongoing basis for account administration within the ABS Advantage platform, for as long as your account remains active.
